found my very first gold ring this A.M. in a tot lot. it's white gold w/ cross of diamonds. all the stones are there. need to get it to a jeweler.
after only eight months detecting i find my first gold and my first real big persons ring. already found a ctr and smaller silver at a nother park last summer.
it was the very first find of the day. found a good amount of clad after that. but that ring sure made my day. found it using my 5.3 coil on the xlt in coin program.
nothing special as too settings. also found a four yr.old wanting to take my finds to show mom. had to be quicker than him. they have no fear. told him he could dig and show his mom the next find. it was a quarter but his mom and him had left. feel like art linkletter some times. i have no idea who the kid is.
anyway on to the next find.

Congratulations on your first gold ring, that is a milestone you will remember the rest of your life.

Hey Widebody ... Congratulations on you gold find ... now you know what makes this hobby so exciting.
I bet you are itching to get out and find some more gold ... right?
Dont worry ... you will ... but it is like fishing ... you just dont know when you will catch a big one.
Some even call it "dirtfishing".
Silver is a little easier to find as it is more plentiful but just as exciting to me to find some.

Do you have a club in your area?
How about swimming beaches?

What other hobby pays you back in gold and coins?

If you ever get down this way (South Texas) call me and let's go beach hunting!

Congrats on the gold find !:clapping:

thanks everyone. actually i wasn't even after jewelry. i was testing the 5.3 coil. i bought it last july and yet to use it. it's so small. up til now i was hooked on my 8" coil. last week i went out to test it finally and i couldn't believe how well it worked in the trashy areas. i was feeling that i was missing a lot of targets and it showed me i was. i really enjoyed hunting with it. then i went to a park i knew was well known and tested it out there and there's the ring. it also found the clad others were missing. as for wanting more. i hope i find more but i'm not digging as much as others say is needed to find the gold. i'll be content to be surprised from time to time and really enjoy myself. waited over thirty yrs. to do this.i'm still learning to dial in my machine and my finds are increasing as i learn and adjust. this coil though now makes me have to re-visit my park again. ya really gotta love this hobby.
thanks to you all again.

Congratuations on a very nice find WB. Glad you figured out how to post those pictures because they truly are worth a thousand words. Great job ! Cajuncoinhunter

i'm for sure not that into todays gadgets. i overthink things when so much is really simple once you do it.
i want a pic of my dog to be in the signiture section but do know how to get it there so it appears every posting or responce i make. can i get someone to help me
on this?

Try going into edit profile you should be able to add a pic there, if not Nancy or Larry can help u out.

I'm not aware of any provisions to load a photo in the signature, but I imagine a programmer could find a way. If you are referring to the Avatar in the upper left corner, that is easy. Click on Control Center and then manage avatars. Your photo can not be larger than 100X100 pixels and a photo can be reduced with a photo editor. Just follow the instructions.

larry, i went to manage my avitars and picked the pic i wanted and submitted it. this is the first responce since so i quess we'll see if it worked. my pic was accepted so i assume the size is good. if no pic is there then more help is needed. did i mention i am computer challenged?
did a preview and no pic. what's next?
