Don here, Out with the MXT on the beach with carolinaclyde's 14 DD excelerator coil. The good news is the big footprint and ability to get close to the water. Major find was at a local park. Kershaw 1600 knife, but was overkill for the DD.

I have found since the hurricane season the majority of beaches have a couple new feet of sand that have been dredged up for the purpose of beach conservation, found 2 merc dimes last summer within an inch of the surface and a silver rosie on the surface. Yhe dredging does burry a lot of good stuff but also could drag up a lot of good stuff.
