13" Ultimate coil for AT Pro...here soon :detecting:

After much consideration for NEL and MARS coils I bought the Detech 13" Ultimate. I found a source in the USA and NOT who'd you first think of. Anyway it could ship tomorrow and it will be some time before I get to thoroughly put it to the test in a natural finds hunt. If it performs like the one on my Whites I will be pleased. One thing to note with the AT Pro is the stock 11" is a very good coil and Garrett knows how to build a good coil. But it does give the ATP a nose heavy feeling. The 13" Ultimate is lighter, 480gr coil + 50gr cover = 530gr or 1lb 2.695 oz. compared to the stock 11" at 1 lb 6.9 oz / 648.2 grams (sans cover I believe) this is a savings near a third of a pound for better balance and greater coverage. It will be fun to see if it ID's some test plot targets better that are at the fringe of my ATPro's capability in my soil. Seeing nearly nothing mentioned stateside about the Ultimate 13" on the AT Pro this will be interesting.

Bruce, on another forum the Ultimate are spoken of quite highly. I am interested in hearing how it does in your test plot, id and depth wise. HH jim tn

Yes Jim, you can count on some unbiased info. I've had the 13" Ultimate on my V3i since later in March of this year and I'm very pleased with it. I'm very comfortable with that detector and know how to optimize it for each coil swap. I'm realistically hoping for a few specific albeit slight performance enhancements with it on my ATP.
