13" Ultimate Coil and Pro-Pointer Issue

I have noticed that I need to turn off my detector when using the Pro-Pointer near the Ultimate 13" coil. The Pro-Pointer starts falsing when switched on and the detector is set on the ground near to the plug I am probing. Anyone else have this issue? I have tried to switch the Pro-Pointer off and on and keeps doing this. I will try different noise cancel channels to see if resolved. Other suggestions?

I have the 13" as well and the X-Pointer didn't want to play well together at first. I turned the X-Pointer on and held near the coil, not too close though. Hit noise cancel and hear the pointer making different sounds as the noise cancel did it's thing. When it was done all was well and no more interference from each other.

P.S. Channel six was the magic number for me. Not sure if it will change in the future, time will tell.

I will try this next time.

Hello lloyde0161 I have a pro pointer as well and it does the same thing with my 12x10 SEF so all i do is move the coil away from the dug hole hope this helps

Its basicly a PI ..... thats the down side to a hand held PPer. Most will produce EMI.

Me too lloyde0161 but with the 12x10 or the pro coil. Especially if I have the sensitivity turned up over 24. Same deal with the X-Pointer. Noise cancel helps with the Pro Pointer but forget it with the X-Pointer which is a true PI. I have a habit now of swinging the coil well behind me as I set up to dig and flatten the coil to the ground. It's much worse with the 12x10 than the Pro Coil. I can imagine the 13" Ultimate is giving you a headache about it. They're excellent coils and just like big antennas!!! Sometimes I just take my headphones off rather than listen to all the chatter.

I use the 13 Ultimate on my SE Pro and I have noticed chatter when the coil and pointer are close together. My solution has been to turn the detector to the left or right from the dig sites keeping the two pin pointer and coil about 3 ft apart.

I'll try the channel adjustment to see how that works.......

The 13 U coil does well picking up targets both small and large.........
