12''X15'' S.E.F coil For T-2

Hi Tom, i,m a uk t2 se user, i,ve been toying with the idea of a sef coil for a month or two..i,ve asked the same question as your self on some uk forums.. the general reply is, greater ground coverage and more depth under the right conditions, but one drawback is multiple hits whilst detecting in trashy ground and locating the target..... for that reason alone i,ve opted for the 12x10 sef which should ba arriving this week from Bulgaria.......happy hunting BAZ

I've got the big SEF coil for my T2. I haven't noticed an increase in depth over the standard 11" but more ground coverage definitely. I tested the coil at an old church, I first scanned the area with the standard coil and found quite a few coins ranging from surface to 8". I then went over the same area with the SEF and found a couple of more coins but all were under 3" in depth. They were probably a result of the better ground coverage and not the depth. With that large of a coil there is a better chance of multiple targets under the coil effecting pinpointing. The BIG drawback is the weight and loss of ergonomic balance. A couple of hours is about all I can handle at a time. I hunt 20 to 30 hrs a week so my "detecting" muscles are pretty good but the big coil wears me out. I find it is good for large open area hunting like fields where the targets are scattered but an area like a park or school it is next to impossible. Pops
