12x10 Widescan & beach (dry)

Hi all, I will be doing some beach hunting this year (dry sand) with my Vaquero and was wanting to try the 12x10 widescan, for those that have this coil have you noticed any loss of sensitivity to small jewelry over the stock coil? Any pros or cons over the stock coil? Thanks for any replies!

i have read that with larger coils you gain search area and depth but lose some sensitivity. with the smaller coil, lose search area and depth but gain sensitivity. im no expert or anything though. i would just stay with the stock 9x8. i read a lot about the difference in coils when i was going to get another one for my vaquero. then decided why, the stock one is good enough. im just not that hardcore about detecting though.

I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in sensitivity with the larger concentric coils on my µmax detectors. However, it should be easy enough to give it a test should you decide to go for it.
