12x10'' Sef coil installed

I did the unthinkable and so far so good. I installed a 12x10''SEF Coil onto my Detectorpro Landpro. Tweaking the pots to fine tune it. I figurte if anything I'll fry something . NOPE.

Hitting rather nicely on the air tests . I'm still tweaking but anyway. The coil was for a Tesoro cibola. Tejon. 12x10'' SEF.4pin, So far I'm looking at 12'' with the coil doing simple air tests. quarter.dime. 14kt ring. I've got it tweaked to where I want it . Looking to throw back some reviews on it soon ,so far so good very sensitive as well.

Nice to know there is another coil option that works out there. Just wanted to share this with other owners of the older models.

Nice work! :clapping:

Hey Finn...do you think you could successfully retrofit that 12' NEL on a UW? This could be a nice little side job for you if you wanted it...

That is a very nice conversion,a brave move but one that has paid dividends i feel, infact if you can do it with the SEF from a Cibola then any of the Tesoro 4 pin coils i would have thought could be adapted.

Would be interesting to see how this setup turns out reliabilty wise, well done on being so inventive.

I just ordered up a Pyle MD unit. Same as the Detectorpro just a nock off without the name. I am going to make the move and grab up a NEL tornado coil like on the underwater and see what happens.

It'll take some tweaking but I think it can be done.

Grounding may take a little time but it can be done.

I went and found a youtube vid on that Pyle unit that a guy called Navigating Nature did...good comments below it...

I figured that was you...based upon your previous work on some of the gear mentioned...good job!

I most deffenetly could Mud. Never say Never. If we can think it Someone out there more then likely will do it. Or has Done it.

I'm eye balling a Nel Tornado For the Cibola now. Just waiting to get the Pyle unit in and rid it of the shaft and cheap coil.

See one thing that is a bit different is the Pyle unit only opperates on a single 9vlt. obviously the older units are with 2. and the underwater is based around a rechargable LI-ION.

I've also been eyeballing a few options as far as the rechargable aspect goes as well. It most deffenetly would beat breaking the seel on the headphones to prevent leakage .

All in do time. I'm sure I'll come up with another crazy idea. LOL

Listen Finn, this is how businesses are started or how a capable modifyer of "off the shelf" gear makes money!.....theres a perceived need in the marketplace, you have the skills and understanding, and can meet the need quickly and provide a solution somewhat economically viable..or at least in a gosh darn hurry....

Wheres the money? Its in the beach gold hunters! You see who buys beach/water/wading gold finding rigs? Its old guys with big money, running on dreams and short time!!

DetectorPro has a sound product and overall concept...that being, wear the weight of the guts on your head, and swing a light fast stick!..brilliant! .This whole UW 'rechargeable' thing is a hell of a selling point too!...focus up brother! Forget the 9v's and even the AA';s rigs..screw the dirt hunters! The money is the beachsweepers, waders, divers!

You are right on the precipice of something really good here...good thing Gary plowed the road...just saying...you ask any old guy whats the best rig for finding gold on sand or surf, and either the Excall2 or CZ21 comes up...problem with old guys is, neither of those rigs are easy to swing, or comfortable, unless modified, gobble up batteries, and neither hits freaking chains!

I want something fast, light, comfortable, simple, that hits gold chains!..$1000 bucks? who gives a damn! Perfect opportunity for somebody that really knows how to market to the right demographic, for I believe the UW with 12" NEL could capture a great portion of it from what I've seen....Well, the season is nearly upon us, gold and time wait for nobody...and I aint waiting for the Udub with the 12"NEL...

If I had one, I'm pretty sure I'd have it paid off in about a month!...and so we dream.....so hurry the hell up somebody!..either factory or an after market modifyer!...OL Mud will be pulling gold with something this year, this UW with the 12" NEL looks like it is the dream machine...
Mud.

All sounds good Mudd. Theary, concepts, then production, backing . The excal and cz-21 are by far not the best units for beach hunting. Thats all a bullshit Marketting strategy to make sales and as you can see sales are good for those units. Reason mainly being is OH THIS GUY HAS A SUCH AND SUCH UNIT AND FOUND A 3 CARAT DIAMOND RING. That is the ebst unit I better buy one. WHAAALAAAH another detector sold. lol It's called Marketting.

Believe it or not. Last summer Majority of my finds as far as jewelry such as diamond studs. rings, gold and silver, and yes even small chains. was done with a Tesoro Compadre and a 9x8 concentric coil. Fresh water of corse and I also stuffed that unit in a set of headphones. I also ran a modified compadre with ground ansd sensitivity controls and a 9x8 concentric in Florida on the beach and in the water. Coins were common finds and a few earrings. The unit performed very well. especially for a 12khz unit. So that being said. really any unit can run with the big dogs it's just figureing out how to set it up to doso.

You really dont need to break the bank either.
