1280x?

I mentioned this in another post as a tail end question but wanted to address it here.

I have a Fisher 1280x that I just started using and in the manual it says I am supposed to have a low, medium and high tone for different targets. I am finding different targets but only seems to be the same old tone. Are the tones so close that I do not notice the difference or could there be a problem with my machine. Any help would be appreciated. All my detecting has been on land so far at 2 different parks.

are you sure you have the 1280x manual and not the cz20 manual? cz has 3 tones. 1280x has 1

Steve,
It is a 1280x manual and it has a page with a chart/graph showing the different tones low being nails, medium tone being rings and pull tabs and the high tone for zinc pennies, copper and silver. The graph also shows the discrimination cut out points for each.

Steve,
I just looked at the fisher site and they have the 1280x manual. My manual is exactly the same except for the chart/graph page, the chart/graph in my manual is from a CZ20. Problem solved thanks!!

Glenn I own a 1280x and a cz-20 and i use this chest mount to get the control off the stem. it makes it much easier to move thru the water and if you're land hunting takes all of the weight off your arm. just thought you might like to see it.

Steve,
That chest mount setup is nice, What a great idea. I never would have thought to do that. I thought the hip mount was cool. Thanks for that tip. Looks like a good stormy day project.
