Got a tip off that a local pawnshop had one for sale....flew down after work today and after checking it out and testing it....I figured it was time to haggle....I felt like I got a good buy $190......I had one a few years ago with the white 10" spider coil...I had made some good finds with it, but I traded it for another detector.... So I could not pass this one up with case and all.... I heard they made these machine as early as 1983 ? I wonder if I call Fisher and give them the serial # if they could tell me how old it is.....The 8" coil is a different looking coil for sure....it may be a bit easier to pinpoint then with the 10" coil....with a freq of 2.4 seems like it should hit silver really good....not so hot on small gold, but good on chunker gold.... Let the ice melt and the water get warm !
