1270 Handle

Does the handle on the 1270 split in 2 halves cause it has 3 screws in the handle, I made a hip mount for it and its kind of in the way. I know the whole thing comes off if you open the box and un bolt it but Fisher says that will void the warranty and I don
 
The 1270 handle does split into 2 halves by unscrewing the 2 screws under the foam handle and the 2 screws that hold it to the wand. It clamps around the nut and bolt post that comes out of the bottom of the control box. I uploaded the to halves for a better view, makes hip mounting easier.
