1270 And Discrimation Question

RELIC_HUNTER

New member
I do not own a Fisher and have been looking at the 1270. I used one the other day with minimum discrimation and my detector of choice in all metal could not detect what the 1270 did. My question, when the soil [ Mineral content ] starts to become a problem, how is the depth affected and also the ground balancing.

Hi,
Since the 1270 does not have auto-trac, you have to manually adjust to ground changes.

As with any detector, properly ground balanced it will give the greatest depth capabilities.

Hope that answers your questions

Skookum is right, most important adjustment for all metals is ground balance, then sensitivity, after ground Bal., if still noisy lower SEN. and keep an eye on the MAX VOL. its will tend to give threshold sound and if your not use to it as with the older TR machines it might bother the user. It was a good thing to use with the older detectors. (Deep target that might not be heard without a threshold tone to break the silent audio could be heard to fluctuate threshold audio).
