1270 & 1270X Same Machine Or ???

I use very little discrimination and the 1270 seams the way to go with depth. 1270-1270X same machine or is there a difference.I see that there is a price gap.

All the 1200's before the 1270 are 1200x
It may be that all the 1200's were "X" models and the 1270 is just thought to have carried the "X" sense all the others did. It seems that the markings on the actual detector itself don't show the "X" If there is two different models of it I've never heard of it or saw them.

There is a 1266x that has an -XB on the end of it "1266x--XB" this one came with a hard case and was a three piece breakdown design (three piece shaft).

Copied this from dealer ad

Fisher 1270 Metal Detector
with 8" Spider Search Coil

Also checked my 1270 and there is no X.

Can't say for sure they never made a 1270x, but I have never head of one.

I agree with you WV i've never heard or seen an X 1270, unless it might be a mis-print.

EBay adds for the 1270 are listed and some are listed at 1270X. ???

I noticed the same thing. But none of the pictures of a eBay listed 1270x shows an x after the 1270. Here is a picture of a listed eBay 1270x
