1270 10.5 Large coil info

Just had a go around with Fisher on the 10.5 coil for my 1270, when I was buying it I ask if the 10.5 coil from my 1265X was interchangable and KellyCo and Fisher tech both said yes. Well today I tried it on the 1270 and no pinpointing at all, tried everything won't work no sound. So I called KellyCo and they said not there problem, they can only go by what Fisher tells them. So called Fisher and talked to there 1270 Tech who told me they are not interchangable the new coil will work on the the older machines but the old one's will not work on the new 1270. Ended up talking with the manager and I said the only reason I bought the 1270 was I already had a large coil for it. Told them all the ads say they ar interch. coils for 1200 series doesn't say when the coil was made. Tech said the wiring is different 1 has 4 wires and 1 has 5 wires. There checking it out and are suppose to call me back. Dought if they'l do anything about. guess So figured I'd put the word out on the forum. Not happy about this.

Thanks for that info...I as well, have and still use a 1265X and have 3 coils for it and thought it would be wise to buy a 1270 if I ever needed a new one so I would/could be able to use all my coils with it...Guess thats not an option now...

The coil will work it just dosen't have the pinpointing ability, which I think it sucks on the 1270, most of the time its just super loud and very very large area. Fisher tech says one has 5 wires and cone has four.
