1266x battery case placement

Picked up a 1266x in pretty good shape but without the white factory battery cases. I have a couple of replacement cases coming from fredrichelectronic in mail but I'm not sure how to correctly insert a case to make contact with the two contact points. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the placement ( + - ) is marked on the cover plate?

Inside the battery case the contact tabs are marked + and - then the contacts on the battery holder are the same as the connector on a 9 Volt battery, or to say the packs have a 9 volt style connector on them. So, positive and negative is easy to determine. The contacts don't snap together, they just slip in and press against the contact tabs and then when you put the battery door in place its holds them in place. There should be some foam pads on the inside of the battery door, be sure that is there and not rotted.

Many thanks Mark. I did not see any markings on or near the contact points but completely overlooked the markings on the battery door (how I don't know, plain as today!) Rubber pads are in place inside the battery door, so I'm good to go. Appreciate the advice.

The marking I'm talking about are on the actual battery contacts in the VERY bottom of the battery box, on the contacts themselves, one is etched with the "+" sign the other one is etched with the "--" sign. So, you have to look inside the battery box and all the way at the bottom.

Your Welcome.
