1265x not functioning

Hello there,
I am the owner of a 1265x which I do not consider inferior to today's detectors in any way.
This morning I replaced the batteries, however once I put the new batteries in,the detector was not switching on at all.
I opened the battery compartment again and -with the detector turned on- started mildly shaking the red and black wires that
connect the battery to the main body..I heard some brief noises then the detector went dead for good.
I do belive it might be a faulty connection between the battery compartment and the main body...however it seems the compartment
is firmly riveted to the shaft, and there seems to be no way to open it in order to eventually substitute any faulty wires.
Suggestions,anyone?

Thanks...

My 1266 did this and I kept thinking in was a battery connection problem, it turn out to be a bad connection on one of the wires in the connector for the coil. I pull the housing back on the connector re-soldered the wires and made sure none of them were shorted to the others and I never had the problem again.
Mine acted just like it wasn't getting any power, even the battery test button wouldn't beep, so the detector wouldn't give me any audio response at ALL!,

Mark.

Thanks...but in the meantime I solved my problem. One of the battery pack was coming apart,so I had just substituted it with one I had got on the internet....of course they are
all cheap Chinese products nowadays,so it is probably badly soldered and the electicity won't get through. I pulled out of the garbage can the discarded battery pack, put it together
with some tape, and the detector is just fine.....it's really disgraceful that brand new accessories you buy online do not even work in the first place...

As we said a long time ago, in a place far away, may the force be with you.:starwars:

Nice fix, and you are right the 1265x is force to recon with. Man I am hung up on starwars.
