1236X2 question

I've read a lot about the 1236X2. My question is, how easy is it to distinguish the "clicks and pops" from a good signal? In a trashy area does it require a lot of sweeps over the same ground to hear good targets?

Thanks!

Usually with mine anything you come over that makes only one beep is usually iron or trash. As far as a broken signal vs. a clear signal i'll keep the silent switch on that takes care of the problem signals in trashy areas. Make sure you listen for the faint signals as well for those deep coins. You can also put a 5 in coil on for extra help in really trashy areas and work it slow. It's a great machine and goes deep. All you have to do is run the coil slow and you'll find what you came for.

Matt, very easy to pick out a round or steady tone out of the click and pops. The 1236X2 is very nice on target separation in trash even with the 8 inch coil.I have used the 5 inch coil in trash with excellent results with this detector.Hope this helps.HH Ron

AMC,is right the 1236-X2 and 1235X are both great detectors and the best buy for performance. My brother called me yesterday from Virginia and on his search found two silver dimes he left his F75 and Explorer in the car and just used this little 1200 series detector.Very pleasant to use and just works.I 'll always have a 1236 or 1235 in my arsenal.Good Luck HH Ron
