So, I found a good price on a little used 1236-X2, made the deal and it is being sent out this week. It's my re-entry into the Fisher arena, after long ago selling my CZ7a Pro and 1266-X. Next season, it's an F70.

But for now, any tips I should know about the 1236?

Congrats on the new detector. Looking forward to hearing what you think when you get some time with the 1236-X2 and that trashy area you have been working with the Vaquero.

Me too! I consider them to be in the same niche, so it will be fun to compare
And thanks, Paul, for the sweep tip...

David, the 1236X should be used the same way you use the 1266X.The clicks and pops are still there.I found a moderate to slow steady sweep speed works best or you will get a pop or click on a good target.I used the small 5 inch coil a lot and found silver dimes over 6 inches in the ground.Take your time learning to use this unit.Great separation in trash.Be patient with this detector and enjoy the hunt.

Well, I sure liked that 1266-X. I'll consider it a one-sided 1266, then. Good target separation and quick response? Heck, the Vaquero may stay in the closet for awhile.
