1236-X2 Ground balance mod??

Most of you are probably aware of the steady tream of folks adapting their Tesoro detectors to manual ground balance, where that feature did not exist before.
Golden's, Silver's and so on are being adapted to have a manual ground balance funtion by those skilled and interipd enough to give it a go.

Yet, I have never seen this done to the Fishers, like the 1236-X2. Is it too impractical? Is there a secret booby trap that 'kills' your Fisher if you open the housing?

All kidding aside, I was wondering if anyone can point me to where this has been done with success?

There should be a trim pot somewhere on the circuit bd. Removing it and replacing with a "same value" 3 to 10 turn pot, mounted in a hole drilled into the box should be a simple procedure. If we just knew which trim pot that is.

Yep, you nailed the problem. Before I go tearing in, I'd prefer to have a pic and perhaps a schematic. Fisher seems tight fisted about that. Until I get them, oh well.
Didn't there used to be a form somewhere with this sort of stuff? "Geo-Tech" or something like that?
