about a week ago i had a very nice gentleman 80 years old ask me if i could fix his old 1220 x
i said i would be glad to look at it & see what i could do.
i got it & it had been modified from the original configuration great job on his part

but now it was a mess all in apart & he had tried to solder the wires to the plastic battery packs
i ordered some new packs from fisher & began to put it all back together
then i called the gentleman to tell him it was alive :clapping:
he said he was going to just give me the machine because i liked it so much & he didn't have any use for it,
i had 1 of these back in 1985
i said wow & thank you very much
so i took it out on its maiden voyage yesterday to a heavily worked park with a few hunting buddies.
we were amazed at the performance of this classic unit , i kicked butt

ran perfectly smooth as silk & found 3 rings 1 was 14k gold :hot:

& depth was great on many of the targets even in our hot Arizona ground
its still 1 hell of a detector.........gotta love the classics

Nice Hunt!

If you was meter dependant those rings would have read trash on a meter.........

Certainly not as deep as current models but a nice beep and dig unit and of course the price was right...nice finds my friend and old technology really works...

Way to go. I told you, I am a big fan of old tech. Trying to be equal opportunity though with the LTD.
Good talking to you, keep us posted on your hunts. You seem to be having fun with some really different hunting conditions.
