Hello, does anyone know if there would be sufficient benefits to be gained purchasing a 12by15 coil for the T2? I do a lot of field work. Will the machine be able to support the weight? Thank you.

I bought a brand new 15x12 SEF for the T2 with the intention of using it for deepseeking work on pasture but even after 6 months i have still never used it,it is without doubt deeper but it is much heavier than the stock coil this inturn makes the T2 nose heavy and alot of ownwers over here in the UK have bought them but very few keep hold of them due to the weight.

The SEF coil is a great coil but i also own the 12x10 SEF this is the far better option as it is deeper and in my opinion more stable than the stock coil and no way is it as heavy as the 15x12 version,i payed a very cheap price for my coil so although i have not uised it i will sell it and make a profit on it.

The 15inch coil that Teknetics sell has been a tota flop sales wise over here due to one thing its weight it is even heavier than the SEF coil and it totally alters the weight distribution of the T2 and if you end up not using it its a waste of money. If you are of a larger build and plan on using it for relic hunting on pasture land then the large SEF would be a very good move and yes the T2 can take the extra weight the main thing is can the operator take the weight.

Would i recommend buying one my personal opinion would be no go for the Ultimum from Detech which is a 13inch coil but is as light as a feather and much deeper than the stock one.

I use a 12/15sef coil. It really woke my T2se . It gives more depth& covers al
ot of ground.

Thanks guys.....I think the size will be a problem for me. I will look into the 13" Thanks.

ive been trying to make a decision on which larger coil i wanted. i have some relic sights that are for the most part not trashy. a large coil could easly cut the time it takes to cover an acre and from what i understand here see a real difference in depth........jmann

Well i had the first opportunity to take the T2 and 15x12 SEF out today and i have to admit i was very suprised how good it was,it did give it a great amount of extra depth and pinpointing and sensitivity was superb.Still have not found the optimum setting as yet but was running it at 75,4,2+ but the biggest problem that i had and could do nothing about was it was on barley stubble and i found that it being a spider type coil it was catching on the stubble and that was most suprising really as my way of thinking was that the extra size and weight of this coil would have knocked the new stubble down but that was not the case.

It will come into its own on pasture land or covering a vast amount of ground in specific time frame say on a detecting rally but the biggest problem i thought i would have was the weight but that was not the case and even after 4 hours of not stop detecting i still could have gone on for another few hours.

Learn alot from today but wont be using it on stubble again but will update again as and when i go on some pasture land or when we have some ploughed and rolled land that will then come into its own and show its full potential depth wise.
