12" x 10" Search Coil for a Vaquero

Has any one used this coil? I am thinking of purchasing one. I will be using it for club hunts as well as treasure hunting both land and beach. thanks

I have a Tejon. I have the 5.75 concentric and the stock concentric coil. My soil is medium to medium-high mineralized and I have been looking at the 12x10 and the 8.5 DD coils. I am leaning toward the 8.5 coil for weight reasons. I can't find any info on the weight of the 12x10 DD coil, or the 8.5 for that matter...

Anyone with any info on them? I would love to hear what you think, especially if you hunt in red clay soil.

i've had them before on the vaq and tejon, i just want to say on the tejon bring a shovel, on the vaq bring one just in case, on a pasture hunt once i dug a tractor spring about 2' once but far as weight you will notice a difference for sure not a bad coil just din't have alot of call for it for my type of hunting, the feel of it on the tejon felt better balanced than the vaq

12 x 10 weighs the same as the 3.6 x 18 cleansweep; both are about 1.3 lbs.

I have a Cibola and a Tejon that I've used these coils on. Both the 12 x 10 and the 3.6 x 18 make the Cibola pretty nose heavy but are not as out of balance on the Tejon (just like amcjavelin said).

In mild soil, I have not found the 12 x 10 to be deeper than the standard 9 x 8. I will cover more area per sweep. It may be deeper in highly mineralized soil, but I have not had the chance to test them side by side in those conditions. For just covering area, I prefer the 3.6 x 18 cleansweep coil. It pinpoints off the ends pretty accurately. I do not get as accurate a pinpoint with the 12 x 10 as I do with the other Tesoro coils I've used; so sometimes with the 12 x 10, I've had to widen the hole a little, but not as wide as I sometimes have to with my CZ's.

I have not used the 10 inch elliptical or the 10.5 inch widescan (DD) and don't have weights for these two coils either.
Cheers,
tvr
