12 inch coil protection

My 12 inch coil i got when purchased my MXT is starting to show signs of being banged off rocks etc. Question i have is what can be sprayed on bottom to protect it from more abuse...huntin buddy says he heard " spray on bed liner" will work...know its very durable but worried where its a petroleum product it might react to plasctic coil and maybe soften?..no idea..anyone use a certain product?
 
They don't soften the coil. You just need to make sure the brand you use has no metal in it. Many beach guys do it.
