After several months of empty promises, I have completed my field test on the 12.5-inch EXcelerator coil. Some of the delay has been due to health issues and some has been due to the 12.5-inch coil itself. Let me explain. I received my first 12.5-inch EXcelerator coil (a prototype) in February. February is not a good time to be out metal detecting here in the Midwest. Snow, cold, ice and frozen ground make many of us armchair detectorists for several months. But after the snow melted and the ground thawed, I was out testing the 12.5. From the first time I connected it to the lower rod, I knew that I liked the feel of this coil. To me, it seemed to be better balanced than the 14-inch Excelerator I had tested earlier. In addition to previously testing the 14-inch Excelerator on my MXT, I had also purchased the 5-inch Excelerator for the MXT as well as the 5-inch EXcelerator on my Sovereign Elite and the 12.5 Excelerator on my Advantage.
