Could someone please explain why gold and pull tabs are the same target ID?, These two items couldn't be further apart in value so why couldn't they be different ID's, is this intentional on Minelab's part?

It would be nice if we had detectors that could ID targets by value but I don't think that technology has been invented yet. Target ID (all detectors) is based on conductivity and mass. For similarly sized objects, gold and aluminum are about the same, platinum somewhat less and silver and copper, quit a bit more. Mass becomes a factor as a large piece of a lower conductive material will read a lot higher than a small piece of a high conductor.

The person who invents a metal detector that can tell the difference between gold and aluminum will be a millionaire.

I have found that the 12-15 crisp signal has been a killer for nickles
