112 year old big silver!

I got excited and pushed 'post' too soon. Found this 1904 Barber Half while working out of town. This is a site where I've found many Indian Heads and V nickels. The half was only 4" deep, but right next to a steel tube fence. The toy race car was almost a foot deep. A local detectorist came by and said he's been working this spot with a Minelab, along with other detectorist a in his club, and found a 1964 dime near the sidewalk. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I've been killing it at this site for some time now. I'll post my other finds when I get back home. By the way, the half is not an S mint, just Plain. Thanks for looking.

Fantastic finds and "CONGRATS"! Thanks for sharing your pictures with all of us & wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishing.

Awesome finds & a great site to hunt. You're doing something right, keep digging!

Great finds!!! What a beautiful coin - Whites' detectors are simply the best out there! I have similar stories of detecting behind other models and it seems like the area has never seen a metal detector before. I even follow behind other detectorists and they get to watch me dig lots of targets in ground they have already searched. Awesome machines!!!

I can only assume he was using an xterra 305. If Explorer family of Minelabs, he better get out of factory coin mode. Everyone has their opinions, but Minelabs can neve be discounted. Good coin though!

Minelab, I'm sure, makes a great detector mcb613. It's not the machine. It's the operator. Every site requires a little tweaking to get around the minerals, EMI, and iron. Knowing your machine is the key. This 1892 IH came from about 8 or 10" down last night. A 1916D wheat was about a foot away. Also dug a 3" clock gear from over a foot deep. Still killing it!
