1107 castle hunt, seal matrix ring, cross bow bolt tip, silver coins, picture heavy...

I have been detecting around a castle built in 1107, there was also a town just below the castle with over 50 homes and a church. The castle has seen 3 major battles and was destroyed three times. It burned down for the last time in 1750 due to a lightning strike. They decided to move the town down hill about 500 meters and dismantled what was left of the town including the castle to rebuild downhill. Detecting here is a challenge and I feel lucky to find one keeper after a 2-3 hour hunt other than square nails. Here
 
Man! that goes WAY BACK. How exciting it must be to unearth treasures that old. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed every single photo and narration. But my favourite (also) is the seal ring. That is just awesome....

Those are some really cool finds . I have never found anything near that old. We just do not have that kind of history where I live.
