11 months of PI gold finds...

Craig-PI

New member
I decided to post a better pic of my gold finds to date... I never picked up a water detector before July 25th of 05... I was strictly a dirt digger... I started researching water machines and decided that a PI was best for me and if I didn't like the water end of the hobby I would not have put out too much money. (our hobby is expensive) :)

I learned a lot from Casper-1 and others like Carol and Vlad from another board I belong to and their expertise with a PI made it fun for me. When I first started I was hunting the wet sand and after a week I ready to get rid of my PI because it wasn't any fun digging up staples down close to a foot.. then I tried shallow water and I found my first gold and after that I started feeling more confident and went further out.. I now hunt only deep water troughs...

All in all I think I am doing very well considering this part of the country swimmers use the water for 3-4 months out of the year.

We all have our favorite detectors we use and the PI is for me. If I was to hunt wet sand I would consider another machine but right now I am having too much fun using my PI.

I have a goal of 50 gold rings, hopefully I will reach it by July 25th.. I stand at 47 and July 25th will be my first year.

Thanks Craig-PI... you're an inspiration to those who work the beaches further north of CT.

I don't have a scale :( It was a lucky find, there was a penny in the scoop as well.. PI's don't like chains.. I want to invest in a scale but I don't know a good one. I never expected to have a good first year like this... After work tomorrow I hope to post the rest of my rings silver/junk

Here is my silver less 3 rings my then GF and now wife snagged :)

I love a women who loves silver and leaves my gold alone :)

Silver ring count is 51 here but 54 total.

I tumble all my silver, some comes out shiny some doesn't.

Here is some of the junk...

I must have close to 30 pounds of fishing weights but I don't think I need to post them lol...

Junk ring totals 41 :(

Wow Alex those chest waders are well made, here in Australia we have nothing like those only canvas chest waders that are nothing to look at and you freeze in them while you are in the water.
Out of curiosity could you please tell me how much they are worth? if it was possible i wouldn't mind buying some if the shop would consider overseas buyers..
Cheers Raoul

Raoul, check Cabela's on line and inquire as to overseas shipping. They have a selection that you just won't believe. That is where I buy mine and no worries.

I can answer your question... They are neoprene but they are too hot to wear now... I stopped wearing mine about a month ago and have switched to Simms Gortex waders... The neoprene can be bought just about anywhere here... Sports Authority, Cabela's...
