I decided to try the 11" DD coil from my F4 on my F5. I set up a little test area with a variety of targets - coins, jewelery and trash.
First I tested it with the stock F5 10" elliptical concentric search coil, then swapped to the F4 11" DD biaxial search coil and went over the same targets.
With the F4 DD the TID was just as accurate as the F5 stock coil, and the air test appeared to be about the same or slightly better then the stock F5 coil. I know from using the DD on the F4 that bottle caps will probably ID as quarters (luckily I'm not getting many where I'm hunting).
The F4 DD coil, even though advertised as only 1" larger, appears much larger in comparison. It was a coin rake on the F4, it'll be interesting to see how it does in the field. It's interesting to note that the F4 is advertised with a frequency of 5.9kHz, while the F5 is advertised with a 7.8 kHz frequency.

Brian
