11" DD on F70

Interference, iron falsing, and a jumpy TID

and the ability to get between some trash to find masked targets....

Hello,

I own two F-70,s and the 11" coil is slightly deeper than the stock coil with better target separation. During my initial field test I discovered that the 11" DD coil actually
made the F-70 more stable at a higher sensitivity setting. In most locations the F-70 is perfectly stable if you take the time to learn how to properly set-up the sensitivity and threshold.
When coin hunting I set my F-70 Program1 to Disc=5 Speed = DE Sen = 85 Threshold = 0 (-3) in trashy areas No Notch except for Iron Program 2 Autotune Speed = SL Sens=85
Threshold = -5 to -9 In Autotune mode the F-70 has some scary depth with very few targets escaping detection. When running in AT mode make sure the detector is properly ground balanced and to help with stability I have found that keeping the coil about 1 inch above the ground while sweeping the coil helps with stability.
Comments are always welcome.

After I got the 11'' DD for my F70 I sold the stock coil as well as the little eliptical coil. The 11'' is all I need.
Much more stable. Last weekend I was able to run it at sens 99, DE, -2 thresh, 5 disc and 4h tones smooth as silk.
My ground can be pretty tough clay, and the 11'' DD is MUCH deeper than the stock coil. No regrets.

I'm finding that the stock 11" DD has such a tight emission pattern coming from the coil that I rarely use the pinpoint any longer. I just wiggle the coil back off the target and dig at the tip when the signal is lost. In addition, if the 'good' target audio changes to an "iron" audio, then I'm certain that I'm looking at a bottcap or steel washer.
