11-27-2009 finds (silver again) at old well hammered park

Went to the old park again for about 3 hours today, found a total of 4 coins, some kind of thumbwheel, about a dozen beavertail pulltabs, numerous pieces of can slaw, couple green .22 hulls. The Dime was 5" deep, laying at an angle but gave a decent signal to the Cortes. Slow day but better than shopping.

You got that right. Wish I could have been out detecting instead of working today.

That old park has got you spoiled, Mckee!

Anytime I find old silver (or relatively old silver like that Merc, or any silver) that's a good day for me.

Well, it gives up just enough to keep me coming back. Its been an active park since about 1880, and I know that all the goodies can't be gone. Total keepers so far from there: 1901 Indian cent, 1910 Liberty Nickel, 1937 Merc. (today), 1942 Silver Nickel, 7 Wheats from 1926 to 1958. From my own experience I know it takes a long time to clean a place out, from what I've seen here the finds may be few but they are good.
