--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking of buying a 10X14 Mono to see if I can improve my success rate locally where finds are getting rare. Deeper may be better.

I am still finding a few targets with the 8" mono, but have given up on the standard double D as being too hard to pinpoint in the water. Will the larger mono still find those tiny objects I've found with the other two coils?

Huntmaster ivanll from Australia has shared his view on these coils and I'm gratefull. It would be interesting to know how others have done using these coils both on the beach and /or in the salt water.

C'mon fellow hunters, help an oldtimer out here--money's scarce and I don't want to spend it on a coil that will not do the job!!!!!!!

Many Thanks All,

Cupajo

Hello Cupajo. I have never used the Infinium, but used the 10X14" on the Mark II. It was the worst mistake I ever made. Flopped around in the waves and could NOT be controlled. I could not tell a significant gain in depth either. The 8" was CLEARLY the better choice, as it can be controlled and the signal is more concentrated. Do as you will, but I think it is a TERRIBLE idea, unless you want to use it on the wetsand.

Thanks for your reply Gulf Hunter!

That's why I asked for opinion's, to get a feel for how different hunters are using the coils. Where I live the water is mostly gentle swells and I have used larger coils on other machines and the standard coil (10X14") on this one with no handling problems.

The thing I'm concerned about is the locating capability of the 10X14" mono compared to the other coils in the same kind of detecting situation and is it worth the extra cost???

GL&HH Friend,
