Maybeone of you can help me with the ue of the 10X14 coil on the gtp 1350,,,, i find that thiscoil goes crazy. I have to turn the sensitivity down to like 5 or 6 so it can work,,,, When i do this do i lose alot of depth????? this coil is really pissingme off,, my 7x0 outperforms this coil like crazy,,,, i feel like i should get more depth with the 10/14 but i dont anyone got any tips for the gtp.....

Do you have the profiling turned off while hunting?

Is your coil wire secure along the lower rod and not flopping around?

Of course i have my profiling turned off,,, and i have tried taping the wire to the lower part of the coil,,, but no luck,,, still goes crazy

I have a field test on the 10x14 at losttreasure.com
The 1350 is ultra sensitive to begin with and the DD only amplifies that. Run your sensitivity at 6.5 or below. You won't miss anything. I run all my GTI's and the GTP at that level. AS I've said a thousand times the sensitivity control is not a depth control. If you turn it up the signal doesn't go deeper into the ground. Keep that in mind and you'll do okay with sensitivity.

The DD is designed for heavy mineralization or at the beach. If you don't have that where you hunt then you don't need a DD, unless you just want more ground coverage as it lays down a 14-inch footprint about 2-3 inches wide. It is an entirely different coil than a concentric therefore it does not perform the same. It doesn't discriminate as well as a concentric and it loves bottlecaps. Since it has no receiving coil for pinpointing you must pinpoint off the front or rear tip of the coil. This coil detects as deep at either end as it does anywhere else. I would not recommend this coil for general coinshooting.

To pinpoint, wiggle the coil side to side over the target as you drag the coil straight back. Stop the instant the signal stops and the target will be under the center front tip of the coil. Hope this helps.

Thanks John. Two questions I forgot to ask. I'm getting to where I assume everyone knows that. Going to have to stop thinking that way. But then I got you for backup. :)
