I have rain today but tested my coil. Set at RX15 Boost on, Discr 90. Outside Ground prope only hit around 8 on 3 freqs. On sensitivity it was only around 6-8 signal anupdad 5 on noise. Amazing. Cant wait to go out and use. It showed the ground at -70 vs -93 on my 10 dd. Rang up quarter at 83 and dime right on thve money . This is a V series coil. Will give update after real use. Am going to a house that was from early 1800. Also is a 1950 drive in that was on the location. Closed 1980. Also was a Skating rink on property in the 2nd floor of a barn in the 1950s and before Might be a massive honey hole.

Congratulations on the good coil and good luck at those nice locations........

Going out today to an old yard I have used the 4x6, 6x10, 10 dd and found my 7 silvers. Will be using the 10x12dd. Will let you know what happens today. Hunted the yard at least 4 times already with 12 hours spent. This will be a clear test of the coil..

Went ous and only found 1 wheat a 1927. Along comes a guy and has an e-track in his car. I said give it a try I have already h hunted it 4 times. He had a very se mall coil. He ger a hit at one inch and thought it was a modern penny. I said dig it and see.he digs up a 1854 half digs in good shape. Who said a coin reading 53 one inch down is not worth digging. I missed it because I did not dig a 53 VDI at one inch. Lesson Learned.

Thats a tough lesson.... I found my only seated dime at a depth of less than 3", it may have been 1". I was night hunting and loading my finds into a pouch and didnt know till I got home.

Tough lesson.
I found a 3 cent trime this spring that gave a 20 20 on the etrac. I also found 2 flying eagles last winter that were 38 to 42 on the F75.

So if the site has a lot of age I will dig a ton,no matter the depth.

Was this a half dollar coin or a half cent coin?

The SEF (White) is a good coil but don't expect miracles. It seems to handle bad ground a little better and it could be a little deeper, but it is a little bigger. It's not the best coil in all situations, sometimes a smaller coil is better, in good ground a concentric might be better.

There is no one best coil, and no coil I know that when it is used would cause me to say WOW, "I can't believe this".

It won't make up for lack of detecting experience.

About every 3 times I go out I figoue out something I can do different and better. The posts from very experienced hopefully will shorten the learning curve of the V3i.

You are welcome.

I dig according to the background info first and then vdi number. I have found so many old coins right on top, fooling me. Giving memorial penny signals, and turning out to be wheats at 1". If it's an old property I dig it all! One time I dug an iffy 5" iron/silver signal, 89-93 vdi and out pops my first Indian Arrow head. Go figure? Happy hunting.

If a spot has history to it i try to dig everything at first. I have found a lot of goodies in the 50 vdi range.

Are you saying that you found an indian arrow head that had silver content, or was there another metal there besides the arrow head? Thats one unique arrowhead reading 89-93.
