OBX...Cool! Thanks for reporting that.

That second batch sold in under a month then here if memory serves of when they got it in. It was at least 16 coils if not more at that time. Probably ordered 20 I would suspect at that time then. 10 this time? Maybe Detech is running out of production stock for the spring rush, as those coils are sold through numerous outlets in the UK I think by the looks of it and not just at one source from what I've seen when snooping UK sites. Might be Kellyco could only get 10 more without waiting with Detech filling other orders perhaps?
Rick, by the sound of it you got your order in with the last 2 left and one is yours, as OBX's post is 3 hours after yours.
Hydraglide, I've heard almost ZERO about bad SEFs for the FBS and BBS Minelab machines. A few other brands of detectors (two different companies come to mind) seems people have issues with them more often than not, but at least one of those brands seems rather picky about coils, and not just *aftermarket* coils in having issues with them.
So I wouldn't worry too much about getting a dud for a FBS or BBS unit. I can probably think of only 1 or 2 maybe posts in various forums across the net I've ever ran across where an FBS or BBS guy reporting have problems with an SEF since day 1 of the SEFs introduction, and believe me I do a lot of web snooping reading up on coils for various machines.
From OBX's report sounds like that 3rd shipment since the GT was discontinued might be in within that 10 days you are showing up there.
If anybody is thinking of getting a 12x10, from the numerous field reports from people over the last month or two as new owners, so far it's all been pretty much real positive and supports my feelings for this fantastic coil, so if you've been on the fence and needed more input then you've got it now. If Rick reports some positive stuff on it to back up Ron's first hunt report with it then it's pretty much a grand slam, as both of them have owned Sovereigns and various coils for a lot of years.
Better jump on one of these coils in case down the road Kellyco stops importing them, because they are the only US outlet for them. I've said it before but if mine went bad on me and I couldn't fix it, I'd swim over seas to get another one if I had too...

They are THAT GOOD...
And yea, once again...No, I don't have any money behind these coils. Just feel they are like strapping a 4 barrel carburetor onto the Sovereign and will wake up some dead sites for people in so many ways, including depth, left/right separation (unmasking), and stability around minerals or EMI. I just think the Sovereign is one fantastic detector in so many unique ways (the long rich detailed audio and supreme depth being just two of them), and so want to see people strap one of these 12x10 SEFs on and push VLF to the last little bit of edge it has to offer IMO. Get one and you'll think Minelab just handed you the Sovereign GTX. "X" being for Extreme...
No guarantees though of course. Every body's soils or sands are different and might for some odd reason rub these coils the wrong way, but with their excellent reputation of being rock solid stable in bad grounds I doubt there is much risk of that...
