Well... I had a rough day but I managed to squeeze out silvers number 100, 101 & 102. I arrived at the 1887 house that I had gained permission on and I was greeted by the homeowner. She said "Sorry I changed my mind. I don't want you hunting the property."
I said "you're joking right?"
Her: "Nope I talked to my brother and he said he doesn't think it's a good idea."
I hesitated for a moment and then ran out of her enclosed porch because I just remembered that my wife dropped me off while she was going to go do some shopping. She drove off without seeing me:rage: I hurriedly reached for my phone to call her back. Ring ring ring ring ring... Nothing. She forgot her phone:rant: the lady sticks her head out of the door and said "is everything ok?" To which I replied
" Well... no. My wife was my ride and she dropped me off on her way out of town. She forgot her phone so now I'm stranded in the 103* heat, 12 miles from my house and I'm carrying around $5000 on my back in the ghetto... So no... It's not ok."
She said sorry and closed the door.
So I grabbed my gear hoofed it about a mile to my plan B house that was built in 1900. This place has been vacant for a long time and the weeds were thick and about chest high. So... I got ta pullin weeds. I cleared out a 5x5 patch to test it out. I would hate to pull all the weeds and not find anything. My first signal was a 1906 IH. Sooooo... I went back to pulling weeds. Long story short. It took me some time to get back in the mood but I ended up getting three IH's 1901, 1906, 1907 one Rosie (57), two Mercs 18 & 27 a Washington tax token, couple old rings and a suspender clasp. No seated. I'm sure it's just hanging out at that other house...waiting. I'm not usually that short with people and I understand her position but I just got royally shafted.

Congrats, even though you didn't get to detect the old place you made out alright. It's too bad you didn't get the lady telling you no, the look on your face and then the hike to the next prospect on video

Oh man! That last minute turn down stinks, but you nailed the silver goal! You're a beast pulling all those weeds! Now that's what I call a hardcore detectorist.... you earned those.

well you know what they say... you're not hardcore unless you live hardcore! haha!

Pulling weeds in that heat takes a die hard , you earned everyone of those beauty's . Great hunt Tones and about that first place and what happened bummer. sube

Wow - you toughed it out and won Brandon - good for you - thumbs down to that turncoat land owner. My question is - how did your wife know where to pick you up? As Paul Harvey would say "that's the rest of the story".

She realized later that she forgot her phone and went back home to get it. Thank god. Otherwise I'd just have to walk back to that house at pick up time. Should make for a good episode of DFA (Dirt Fishin America) though.

Congrats and man that sucks on the last minute no. At least she did say " well my dog's cousin hunts and he wants to do it" Oh if I had a dollar for every time someone told me they had a relative friend or spouse who is going to hunt it. WTG on the 100-102 silvers you earned them that is true dedication!
