10"x5" elliptic on Tejon/Vaquero

I'd like to have some opinions about this coil, before takin' it. I've the 12"x10" hot widescan coil, but in high mineralized grounds my tejon does not go so deep with this coil and it's hard to GB. Now, I'm waiting for a Vaquero in. I hear that it should perform better than Tejon in hot grounds (less power but more control). Do You think that the fact that the elliptic 10x5 sees less ground could help? Is there so strong difference in performances between this two coils? The 10"x5" coil reminds me the MXT one, a standard for beach and high mineralized areas, so I guess it could be a good choice.
I'm not searching in very trashy sites, so I'm not planning to get a 5,75 coil, for now.
Thank You for any reply!

I consider the 10" ellip to be my mountain coil and unless the ground is trashy, its my main coil. I live in the mineral belt of Colorado and there was extensive mining and prospecting nearly everywhere I look. If you plan on hunting in hot soil, this would be a great coil, its the standard coil on the LST for good reason. It runs very smooth and there is less maintenance when the soil matrix changes a little. Its easy to GB and pinpointing at the tip of the coil is very accurate. I also use the 5.75 Conc in some of these areas and have had great depth, but it is higher maintenance as i seem to be checking and adjusting the GB often, whereas I have confidence when using the 10" ellip that is is running smooth and deep. Overall its a great compliment to the Vaquero, I cant compare it to the 10 x 12 so I cant help you out there. Good Luck!
