Detech started production on this new coil December 1 . I wanted to get one for my Sovereign GT but they are not planning on making them for that machine because they have been discontinued. However, they are going to make them for the MXT Pro and I think I'll give it a shot.

I as going to post a link to the new coil but for some reason the moderators frown on it.

Has anyone else looked at this little gem ?

yes and I will have one as soon as it is available. it appears to be half the weight of the 10x12 ..the sef coils are about all I use so I cant wait to get this one..

I have the sef 10x12 on my mxt pro, works like a charm. my first coin was a silver quarter, it showed a full bar at 10 inches, I was impressed! it took a month to get it, but it was worth the wait!

Looks like the 10x5 SEF WSS coil is now available to buy. Nice looking coil, they say in the description its good for nugget hunting as well. They will sell a pile of them!! I love my 8x6 SEF.

Never seen one of these new Detech coils being used and they maybe a very good coil, but i have seen plenty of the SEF8x6 and the 10x6 Whites coils being used including myself, the small SEF coil is a absolute gem and ticks all the right boxes.

Kellyco's site says this coil only weighs 8 oz (depending on model) and is incredibly accurate at pin pointing the smallest of targets. I wonder if it is more set up for gold prospecting than coin hunting? Hope someone will do a youtube video of this new coil! I can't help but think it would be similar to White's 6x10 coil. A straight up comparison would be interesting.

Hey Ronhob
I am having trouble pinpointing my 10x5. One guy tells me to use the toe curve and some tells me it is the same as a concentric coil which is center of coil. Which is the best way?
Thanks David

How do you like the new coil?? How is it on depth as compared to stock coil? Give us some details

hey Man
I love the coil in trashy areas the seperation is awesome.I have been digging big holes around 9-10 dimes. If I can figureout the PP. I can save time with smaller holes.
the coil is very light .Swing it all day.
awesome coil. The 950 pinpoints so much easier.
David

I don't have the wss, but when I pinpoint with my 6x8 DD, I always just look at a spot in front of the lower shaft while pinpointing, then turn 90 degrees and pinpoint again. The + method works well for me.
I don't even use the pinpoint trigger on my MXT Pro when park hunting for the newer stuff. Much quicker to just X and go.

Thanks
I will go and grab the MD and head to the fairgrounds and try it..
