Jack or anybody,
I remember Al-Ga requesting a larger coil for the LST and Tesoro sent him a prototype. However, there was no benefit on the LST so we never saw this coil. What I would like to know is, what can we expect in the way of performance from this big DD coil on the Tejon and or the LST? Depth, sensitivity to a variety of objects ect?
From reading the many posts from people who have tried larger DD coils on the newer high gain machines the impression I get is that in typical hunting situations they aid quite a bit. I realize that for coin hunting high gain machines typically do not add a lot of depth as they tend to help out more on the smaller targets. What characteristics of the DD coils compared to concentrics allows for the good results reported with the bigger sizes on these high gain machines?
