It's a lipstick, for sure.
I used to find a lot of them, back in the day.
Haven't hunted the kind of places that produced them since.

Always a cool bit of vintage-ness.
 
do a google search on northam warren lipstick tubes. the one i saw wasn't yours but i didn't look at all the pictures and links. good luck
 
WOW !!! all that and a gold nugget too .
guess its ID`d as a lipstick case. i was thinking one of those old
vintage needle holders
