10 inch Double D Search coil pinpoint ?

Bought this coil new in early summer and have used it for about 2 months.
I switched back to the standard coil because of the pin pointing with the 10 DD
Ever time I tried to use that pin point on the MXT with this coil it would point about 2 inches to the bottom left of centre.
I always thought it should be just above where it joins coil to rod.
Its a good thing I had the %$#@ pin pointer otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out.
Is any one else having that trouble ?
The standard coil points dead centre and work great.
I was also not impressed with the depth that I was getting. I did better with the standard 9.5
I'm not convinced its a bummer coil as I plan to give it one more try next season.
White stuff on the ground pretty wells finishes my digging

I personally love the coil. I haven't taken mine off since I bought it. I also am having no problem at all pinpointing. I x the target and it pinpoints right in the center of the coil with no problems.

The 10 inch dd coil is my #1 choice when not around power lines. It is deeper than any coil and pinpointing is excellent, once one gets used to pinpointing with a dd coil. Are you aware that pinpointing in Prospecting Mode is nonexistant? One pinpoints the old fashion way by going over a target at 90 degree angles. Sounds like you either have a problem with the coil and it should be sent back or you need a bit more practice with it.

I've had my D2 for a year and it pinpoints just as accurate as my stock coil. The only DD coil i'd ever used before the D2 was a 12.5 Excellerator, and that sucker was hard to get a center on. The D2 is a nice happy medium between my 2 other coils

I love the 6x10. I pinpoint with it by finding the highest pitch then pulling straight back until the tone is as it's lowest pitch and the target is always right at the front tip.
