10" Excellerator coil VS White's D2 coil

Does anybody have or use both. I was told that the Excellerator coil is lighter than the D2 but then seen others post it the other way. If you use any of these post your preference and why. I do have the 6x8 SEF DD butterfly coil.

Maybe try doing a search on your comparison question . . I'm pretty certain it's been brought up at least a couple times. If the search doesn't work well try just scrolling down through the threads in this forum, I think there was a good one (i.e. plenty of input and responses) just recently. I haven't used the Excellerator coil so I'm sorry I can't give any valid comparison info.

I don't know how much it weighs but the 10" D2 is light. I do not use it much but when I have had it on it seems about the same as my 4x6, it feels like nothing is there. I use a 6x10 most of the time so compared to it, it is a feather.

Tried doing a search and didn't find much and to me the D2 coil is a heavy coil.

Just weighed that 10" DD no rod and its 1 pound 4 ounces

From what I remember from previous threads the weight difference is minimal (can't remember which is lighter or heavier). The Excellerator is also said to be a little more stable in mineralized ground (by those who've used both) and thus a little deeper seeking in those areas. I have used the D2 quite a bit but I don't like the "bottlecap dementia" the DD's suffer from (ID's bottlecaps as quarters) so I look to go with the concentrics as my first choice now.
