10" coil VS 8" coil

Hey All,

I purchased the 10" coil not to long ago and just want to knowthe following. Does the 10: coil have a greater depth than the 8" coil, I heard it's like 2 inches more!

Thanks :)

In my amateur opinion I would say that the larger the coil, the deeper it goes. I would not buy an 8" if I already had a 10". Me, I use to 10" stock coil that came with my Pioneer 505 and I purchased a 4" coil for extreme trash areas and places a larger coil just couldn't reach. I hope this helps. HH. Matt

In trashy areas though I would use the 8" or even the 4" coil for better separation. You just aren't going to get much depth in the trash and that is probably where most of the goodies are anyway.

The 10" coil will give you a little more depth, maybe as much as 2" depending on conditions, in open clean areas where you want to cover a lot of ground quickly and where you don't have to worry about target separation amongst lots of trash metals in the ground.

Good luck with that new coil and Happy Hunting!
