10" coil ADVANAGES VS DISADVANAGES

What is the pros and cons of the 10" coil. Its my understanding that it goes deeper, thats great, but that you will loose smaller objects, how small? I take it that you can cover more ground quicker since the coil is larger and do you loose any pin pointing vs the 8" coil? Any information is welcome.
 
I have and use the 10in. It does alow you to cover more ground but the wide search pattern also picks up alot more in trashy areas. Thats why its harder to pinpoint with"i have to detune over a target".
As far as small items go i dont know as i just use the coil in open ground or at the beach coin shooting.
