10.5 DD coil on X-terra 30:thumbup:

Since two weeks I am using the 10.5 DD on my 30. When just had it on, I finally felt for the first time I had a minelab in my hands. [just a feeling.... with the stock coil there is nothing wrong]
But the 10.5 gave me more depth and performance on the old fields that I detect. I cant believe how stable it is. In many cases i can crank up the sens. till 10!!

I wonder if there are more people that slapped that awesome coil on the 30..... what do you guys think of it?

HH Eric.

I always use the x-terra 30 in the all metal mode...I love this mode in combination with the display.

Hi Eric.
I thought someone would have responded by now. I have the DD coil for my 30. I quite like it. It does feel a bit heavy at first, but once you keep it moving, it's OK. For a DD coil it is more sensitive than I expected. It also handles trashier sites fairly well. When beach hunting, I consider it, a must have. In some ways, it is easier to work with, than the standard coil, but in recent times, as my knowledge of detecting has improved, I'm now able to get more information out of the standard coil and tend to prefer that now, when lawn hunting. This is primarily due to it's ability to help in sorting screw caps from coins, as my favourite coins are in this range. To date, the X-Terra is the best at doing this.
Something that might be of interest to you, when in Sydney over Christmas, I dropped into the Minelab shop and checked out the Explorer coil nut and bolt. it seems that this will fit the X-Terra as well. We checked it out in the shop and it seems to fit. The standard one, just looks too frail to support such a large coil. I'm just waiting to get my X-Terra back from a friend I loaned it to. Really starting to chomp at the bit to get it back.
Mick Evans.
