10.5" DD 7.5 khz coil vs. the 9" concentric 7.5 khz coil

Hello folks. A little help please. What can I expect to get from the 10.5" 7.5 khz coil in weight, coverage, balance and depth over the 9" concentric 7.5 khz coil. Thanks for any info in advance.

Well the extra 1-1/2" dia. of the 10.5" DD makes up for the depth difference you would expect of a DD vs a concentric. In mild soil I would call it a wash depth wise (subjective opinion) with the DD design of the 10.5" giving better performance in hotter ground.

The 10.5" is heavier than the 9" that and with the rod mount at the rear of the coil throws the balance off a fair bit making it nose heavy. For coin hunting in most situations if you are using proper coil overlap I prefer the 9" concentric.

Thank you sir. I appreciate the info.

Sure wish ML would upgrade that 10.5 DD to a newer style like a slimline. I've mentioned it a few times over the years but don't look like it's going to happen.
