Hi Wayne,

Those sound like great finds so let's see if we can get some photo's up.

When you go to attach the photo to your post, try to make it 100K or less in size or it will be rejected. Try this program if you don't have any image editing software.

If you have camera photo editing software look for a menu item like re-size or re-sample. If not when you go to save the photo save it as a jpeg(jpg) and set the quality or compression setting to about 85% and see how big the file is after saving it.

Thanks Barnicle Bill,

I appreciate the webiste help-I know enough about computers at work just to be dangerous and never thought there would be a problem in uploading pics-how wrong I was..I will attempt to upload my finds now in this e-mail. The back mark states: "EXTRA QUALITY" Thanks all and HH.

Hello fellow diggers,

My hunting buddies, Dave & Mark & I have been hunting a CW Union encampment site since April and have been astonished with the recoveries we have made: IH cents, 1859, 1861, 1862, 1864, approximately 200 drop bullets; .44s and .54s clap pipes, chewed bullets, but also fired .58 caliber federal and Confederate round shot, and probably over 3 dozen buttons; mainly general service, but also a few "A" and one "I" recovered to date, mostly in very poor shape as the soil in Virginia just eats away whatever remains. Although the site continues to give up "history's past", the finds have been few and far between as we have almost exhausted this site.

This past Saturday, I returned once again to hunt this site, My two hunting partners Dave & Mark could not join me as they could only get out Sunday which I could not do. On Saturday, I brought in a rake and raked over an hour-previous areas that we have already detected which have been productive these past 6 months and was rewarded for my efforts: 2 more dropped .44s, & 2.54s, plus 1 general service jacket/breast button, and my first: 1 NY State Seal Staff Officer button with excelsior inscription around the 13 stars on the bottom of the button. This button has almost 50-760 gilt, is beautiful with eye hook fully intact no smoosh at all, fully legible back mark states: "Quality Extra" with two small starts on opposite sides.
And this site was supposedly "all hunted out" per fellow ther's. It all goes to show-no site is completely hunted out if one will take his time and rake the area to unmask the goodies lying just below the surface.

I hope to post pics later this week but am having difficult in posting pics but hope to do so this week. When I upload from my camera I get an error message stating pics are too big-how do I re size so I can post? Thanks & HH!
