10 1/2" spider coil for my Fisher 1270

I just got good deal on a 10 1/2" spider coil that I will be using on my 1270 when it gets here and the weather gets a little better. Kind of wondering if this coil is a good choice for coin hunting and if so about how much extra depth in the dirt can I expect over the stock 8"?

Wake up you classic guys, this forum hasn't had a new post since last year.

I'm thinking there is some places where the 10.5" will really work good.
(For the others here)
We (my brother an I) hunted a place this past summer where an apartment complex went in, off to the side of the property they left an old house, (the maintaince employees use it for their shop and dstorage) next to that is a really good size field that at one time also had a house on it. The apartment complex is commonly refered to as the "Bluff"
Oh, the house doesn't have a footer! its setup on large stones.

Now hunting an area like the bluff I think the 10.5" would do really good. The area had its share of trash but it wasn't littered enough to be a problem. Some stuff there was pretty deep, I found that Indian Penny that day and it was getting down there on the deep side.

Now I think in a large area that the trash is more packed in then the 5"X 10" would be a better choice.
And for a smaller well littered yard I think the little round 5" would be the best choice.
And the olny place I can think of where the hocky puck (3") would be good would be flower beds.

Its a goodie, it will go every bit of 3" more on coins, got a couple of LC's and 2 farthings between 9 & 10 inches, and for relics bring a pick.

Thanks shooter, but I am not interested in Chinese coins, maybe I should send it back.

Mark, If you get a place with a little trash the 10.5 is awesome, high SEN low DISC (about 3) and secondary mode IRON MAX and she'll find deep....

I think you meant "Ron" he's got the 1270 and the secondary mode! I've got the 1266. But from what I'm gathering the 10.5" is going to be deep.

Take shooters advice if there is anyone on the planet that can make a 1270 talk is shooter i'm surprised he hasn't taken one yet and called it the shooter edition! LOL!

mounted traditionally it will be nose heavy...but...it will go deeper and cover larger areas better. I hunt exclusively with the 10 1/2" and only use the 8" in thick brushy areas.

Thanks Jav. still swinging the 1270 along with the F-75, The F-75 is doing ok, but I'm sending it back for the fourth time for the "no display" problem, 4 times , trying to get them to replace it cause of all the trouble but they won't do it, not even a call tag and the $31.00 is getting old.

As some of you know my coil came in and it was for a CZ not my 1270. I listed it in the classifieds for trade or sale.

Okay all the dealing is done and I got the right coil now, but it is to blasted cold to get outside.
