Hello all,
I had a lean patch for a while then got all enthused again after a big storm hit and I decided to check out a local beach in my patch of Tasmania. An area I had gone over many times for very little was suddenly full of coin in an area around 10m x 5m. I would estimate around 300 coins of various ages and denominations and even a large silver foreign coin ( Polynesian 50 francs). The only coin I haven't found is a florin( 2 shilling) . I then heard of a lot of coins being found in an area where I have found a few pre-decimal coins. Off I went for a look but most of the ones I was told about had gone( I found 1 :crylol: ), a bit of modern coin and a Nederlands 25c, and no, I have no idea how that got there. So I did along side the road in an area very heavy with rubbish and got a jumpy signal that was mainly in the high 50s to low 60s so dug it anyway. Out popped a coin that had so far eluded me, which was a farthing dated 1821 with a hole, probably so it could be used as a pendant. I,then full of enthusiasm again, decided to give a park that I have hit so many times that I call it " my park". Well with the amount of time I have spent there I should just about own it by now :D . Did something I don't usually do and that is cranked up both the sensitivity and Discrim and hit an area near a picnic table. You could have knocked me over with a feather. 2 very worn pennies, 1 dated 1807 and the other a young un of 1936. Both in poor condition but how the hell I missed them over time I don't know. Then out popped the title object. An 1891-2 Tasmanian International Exhibition medal. Silver and as the title says 1 of only 2000 made. The bronze one is even scarcer with only 1000 made. One of the previous owners has scratched the date and maybe initials on the awarded to side. All this has happened in the last month or so. I also in that time bought a 5" DD and love it. Not a lot of depth loss and pin pointing is a dream. Am a fairly happy chappy of late. :)

Great day you had, post some more of your finds if you have the time,-------------------------------HH-----------------------------------------after1-----------------
