Gulf hunter I see you have a Sea Hunter Mk II in your hand detecting there,What size coils do you use mostly & have for your P.I Unit?

I use a Sea Hunter Mk II as well, but with a 10x14" Mono P.I Coil & gets good depth on targets to.
Just curious Gulf hunter,at what setting do you have your threshold set at & Is there a way to perform a Reverse Iron Check on our detectors similar to The Infinium LS ?

Hey freddy, I just purchased a 10x14 and ran it 2 times this weekend. Things were pretty sanded in though. See my recent posts on this forum. Run the Mark II on standard trash elimination, threshold to barely audible and 0 on discrimination. There is no way to avoid digging the ferrous though. If I feel like the area is particularly trashy I will use the Excal. I do feel like the 10x14 is punching deeper and of course a much wider foot.

G,day Gulf hunter,
Thanks for the setting tips :biggrin:Yeah with the wider coil, she punches down nice & deep & great coverage alright, while still maintaining it's sensitivity ! problem is, it also makes great big holes when your digging a deep target.Because my scoop is 6" diam & my coil is 10" wide, you have to remove alot of sand to get closer to the target.Which in turn creates a mini crater,in no time your standing in a 1ft hole you've created.
