1 inch of frost

New member
went out today looking for gold all i found was 3 clad quarters. about 1 1/2 inches of frost, i hope nobody that knew me saw me. they would think i was crazy they don't understand when the metal detecting bug bites you there is no cure it also gives me a chance to smoke a cigar. seem like all i find is quarters.

I understand completely John, I too went out last week with snow still on the ground. I know people were thinking I was an idiot, but I just had to go out. Didn't find much, I think a clad quarter and a boy scout button, but it was still fun just to get out. HH, Mike

One time I got a new detector and there was about eight inches of snow on the ground. I packed up the snow blower and went down to the park... cleared off a nice area and tested out the new machine. Found a few keepers. My step daughter drove by and thought to herself what kind of an idiot... Oh, that's Robin! Yea, she likes to tell that story, haha. You are not alone John.

Yeah,
Nothing beats getting a winter fix like detecting in January during a single-digit cold snap-
at night!
Tried it last year while just before the ground went solid and the temp plummetted to 9 degrees.
Got a merc and a rosey,
and some wickedly painful frozen fingers.
Id do it again in a heartbeat!
Luckily this year has been mild and no need to go hot doggn' yet!
